GRANDE showed the way from the inside and dawdled along while being well handled, came under coaxing leaving the five sixteenths and was roused leaving the furlong marker right handed and then given a left handed reminder late to keep CAPITAL IDEA safe. CAPITAL IDEA was well placed along the rail and moved out leaving the three sixteenths and made a three wide bid by the furlong marker but could not get to the winner while running on willingly but had to settle for being second best. RACING DRIVER stalked the winner three wide and came four wide off the turn and was no match for the top two wide saving the show award. LIGHTNING TONES was settled two to three wide and came five wide off the turn and improved to gain the last spot in the superfecta. CADET CORPS was five wide into the first turn, settled on the outside and made a four wide run on the far turn and came five wide off the turn but weakened. STEAL SUNSHINE was reserved early, saved ground on the far turn and failed to menace. FREEDOM PRINCIPLE chased the pace four to three wide and tired.
