LIKENESS saved ground, was asked to improve on the far turn, responded willingly in the stretch and prevailed under a drive. THE BIG GUAVA (FR) reserved early, was urged on the far turn, angled four wide into the stretch after finding a seam between foes, rallied strongly but missed. VERSAILLES ROAD raced in striking position three wide, stalked the pacesetter up the backstretch run, moved to the front just past the three-eights pole and stayed on well while racing between the top two in the stretch. SENOR ROBERTO pulled early, moved out four wide up the backstretch, was swung five wide into the stretch, lodged a bid but was empty late. AMERICAN DIRECTION assumed command early, was challenged on the far turn and gave way in the stretch.
