Footnotes
HANDS OF TIME broke alertly, narrowly showed the way into the first turn, shook clear before a quarter, extended that advantage in the run up the backstretch and into he far turn, saw that advantage shrink into the lane while being asked, found more the final furlong to hold the runner up at bay while drifting out late. CAMIGOL settled in the second flight while between horses, closest to the winner into the final bend, closed the gap on that one into the stretch, could not get to that same rival in the final sixteenth, clearly best of the others. MALCOLM X (PER) back off the pace outside the runner up, remained in the three path through the second bend when one paced, lacked a winning response through the stretch while working his way to the inside to finish up along the rail. LOOKING FOR STARS away in good order, briefly dueled outside the winner early, chased the second quarter then began to gradually weakened. DAVID PEPPERMAN saved ground well behind the leader and inside the runner up, continued to track late backstretch then began to weaken. DEEP STAR fell back to trail at he start, was never a factor and finished well back.
