Footnotes
FREAKY NEEKS broke with the leaders, narrowly showed the way early inside, dueled through the turn while remaining closest to the inside, disposed of the other speed in upper stretch, clear past the furlong marker and maintained daylight to the wire while being kept to task. EL OREJON pressed the issue early three wide, chased the dueling leaders through the turn while still in the three path, engaged GUS SWAYZE for the second spot with less than a furlong to run, wore that rival down while slowly carving into the winner's advantage. GUS SWAYZE also with the early pace, dueled outside the winner through the turn, could not keep up with that one through upper stretch, outkicked in the late going for the place. BEAU BLACK as bit slow to settle along the rail, moved out and raced within striking distance in the second group while in the two path turn, lacked the needed closing response in the lane to finish up evenly. PARDO settled well off the pace while racing outside, came four wide for the drive, lacked a serious closing response. SUPREME HONOR also lacked speed, floated out a bit by PARDO to be five wide turning into the stretch, came up empty with called on for run as well. HARD TALK off a step slow, trailed throughout along the inside.
