Footnotes
BETTERA settled behind the first flight toward the inside through the first turn, continued to stalk that lead pack up the backstretch while firmly in land along the rail, moved out, ranged up to challenge three wide exiting the final bend, gained the advantage, dueled past the furlong marker and proved best in a determined effort. CORTA FUEGO lacked early foot, continued to race mid pack and between horses second turn, dropped inside to cut the corner into the stretch, challenged, dueled, outkicked in the late going, held the place. HONESTO void of early foot out in the strip, five wide through the final turn, staged a willingly rally down the middle of the strip to be up for the show. MAKTUB broke back, raced off the pace while well wide in the five path into the first turn, moved a bit closer backstretch while continuing outside, four wide through the second bend, improved position late with some mild interest. NAVY CROSS vied up front while closest to the inside, continued to do battle into and through the final turn, came out a bit midstretch, gave ground grudgingly to the wire until giving up a couple of positions late. K. C. CHIEF away well from the outside, dueled into the first turn in the three path, continued to set or force the pace the next half mile, gave way from between horses second turn. ROCK THE STARS void of any early foot, came three and in some traffic into the stretch, improved position a bit without posing a serious threat. STEELIN BASES in the second group first turn in the three path, made an early move to challenge on the outside before a half, vied through the second turn, held a slight advantage late in that bend then faltered in the drive. GIFTEDBYDESIGN broke back, lacked speed, four wide through the second turn, failed to muster a rally. SPACE LAUNCH settled in the main group, saved ground far turn, began to give way soon after. RUSE was finished after a half.
