Footnotes
LONGBRANCH LOU in mid pack while four wide through the first turn, continued outside, raced four wide again in the far bend, lost considerable ground to the runner up into the lane, roused, late run to kick that rival down the lane going. GIVE ME LIBERTY forwardly placed into the first turn, tracked the issue up front while continuing to save ground, slipped through along the fence to challenge late in the final turn under clever handling, clear into the lane as a result, failed to contain the winner the late going, clearly best of the others. CARENTAN prompted the pace early after moving out three wide in the first turn, continued forward, closer to vie between horses in the final bend, weakened inside the winner a furlong out but managed to save the show. ALWAYS TRUE in mid pack while toward but not on the inside, asked along far turn, swung out five wide turning into the stretch, improved position with some interest down the middle of the strip. SALVATTORE PRINCE off a step slow, raced back, saved ground into the final turn, following the winner through along the rail, cutting the corner into the lane and improving position, went flat the final furlong. GRAND DAVID forwardly placed while three wide, continued to apply pressure the middle half mile, gave way from between horses late in the second turn. ETON void of any speed for six furlongs, fanned seven wide into the stretch, made little impact in picking off a couple of tiring rivals. LAS OLAS also raced always back, carried six wide while between horses exiting the final turn, failed to muster a rally. HILLBILLY BOB broke on top, narrowly set the pace four just under six furlongs, headed midway on the final turn, gave way then stopped through the stretch to trail home.
