CAPTAIN EDDIE broke alertly, cleared toward the inside, set all the pace, showed the way by daylight into the lane and held the runner up safe in the run to the wire while under steady handling. JAVA BUZZ forwardly placed along the inside, crept a bit closer while behind the leader along the rail turn, idled when covered up late in the bend, tipped out for the drive, set down, could not get to the victor while clearly second best. HOTTAKEJAKE in the second flight while three wide, remained within striking distance through the turn, proved no match for the top two in the drive in lacking a significant closing response. SCHNITTKER back off the early pace, ranged up to pose a threat while four wide turning for home, went flat through the lane to also finish up evenly. STERLING HARMONY lacked early foot up the backstretch while racing in the three path, dropped inside through the turn, improved position a bit while not posing a serious threat. FAST FIXER unprepared for the start, off poorly to spot the field several lengths, continued to lag, picked off a couple of tiring rivals well after the issue had been decided. NERO TULIP (GB) in the second group early while four wide, began a steady retreat before three furlongs. KING JULIEN forwardly placed for three furlongs off the inside outside the runner up, gave way from between horses late in the turn. FOLLOWING A STEWARDS' INQUIRY REGARDING THE START, NO ACTION WAS TAKEN.
