Footnotes
FINEST GAMBLE well placed while saving ground early on, roused into the far turn and tipped to the two path nearing the quarter marker, confronted ZENICK into the stretch and battled that stubborn foe into the final furlong, shook free to the final sixteenth then drew clear in deep stretch. ZENICK away in good order, went up to take early command, set a prompted pace into the backstretch, carved out moderate fractions to the half-mile pole, showed the way into the far turn then met the bid of FINEST GAMBLE into the stretch, stubbornly battled past mid-stretch then yielded to the winner late and was a clear second. SECRET POWER settled while saving ground early on, made a three then four wide middle move along the backstretch, chased the leaders while four wide nearing the quarter marker, went evenly through the stretch but kept on to be a well clear third. TURN AND RUN settled in the early stages, coaxed three wide to upper stretch, couldn't find the needed late response but passed tired foes late. CHING CHING close up to the early pace, attended to the moderate fractions two wide along the backstretch, lost position into the far turn, tired in the drive. VAN CLEEF crowded between foes at the start and last away from the gate, settled outside of rivals into the first turn, raced widest to the backstretch then was four to five wide nearing the half-mile marker, trailed into the far turn, was widest to upper stretch and did not factor in the drive. ROCKAZO bumped and jostled between rivals at the start, was rank and hard to place on the run to the first turn, settled in the second flight, moved out to be three wide along the backstretch, gave chase into the far turn, couldn't keep pace nearing the top of the lane and faltered in the drive.
