Footnotes
NEW LIFE jostled at the start, settled outside, chased to the far turn, asked four wide nearing the quarter marker, vied to mid-stretch, kicked clear. TURKISH FLAME allowed to settle early on, roused while five wide to the far turn, maintained a wide path to upper stretch, couldn't impact the winner into the final sixteenth but closed well late and was along in time for second. RESTOCK (JPN) broke alertly and took early command, set a decent pace to the backstretch, dictated terms to the quarter pole then drifted out while leading into upper stretch, overtaken past the furlong grounds, yielded to the top two in deep stretch, held safe for third. ARTISTE threw head at the start and was last away from the gate, lacked early speed, gained ground from the inside into the far turn, chased while within range into the stretch, couldn't sustain that run to the final sixteenth, flattened out. JUNEGENAI settled in the second flight to begin, lost position nearing the half-mile marker, shifted out and chased three wide into the far turn, swung widest to upper stretch and finished evenly. SCARLETT'S LAW close up in the early going, stalked the decent pace two wide to the half-mile marker, pressed into the far turn then turned away nearing the quarter pole, chased to upper stretch, gave way in the final sixteenth. STELLA BIONDA settled in the second flight, went up to stalk the pace two then three wide nearing the half-mile pole, gave chase to the quarter marker, lost position to upper stretch, tired in the drive.
