LIBERTY RINGS hustled from the gate, raced close up to the early pace while three deep, was well placed to the turn, got shuffled back a bit midway through the bend, shifted out and rallied three to four wide to upper stretch, went up to confront MON COQUETTE with a sixteenth remaining, took command in deep stretch and drove clear late. MON COQUETTE showed speed from the gate and took early command, led while off of the rail into the turn, dictated terms to upper stretch, was green and drifted out nearing mid-stretch, led into the final furlong, was overtaken by LIBERTY RINGS into the final sixteenth and bested the rest. HOT ROD HONEY chased the early pace from between runners, was caught in tight approaching the turn then shuffled back into the bend, angled out and was set down while four to five wide into upper stretch, couldn't impact the top pair into the final sixteenth but held safely late for the show. BOOTS crowded at the start and last away from the gate, saved ground while chasing the pace to the turn, lacked the needed response at the quarter marker, stayed on from the rail into the stretch and improved position late, while unable to threaten the leaders. COLOMBINA away in good order, chased the early pace from the outside, ran in pursuit three then two wide nearing the quarter marker, vied for the lead to upper stretch, got caught a bit in tight at mid-stretch behind the drifting MON COQUETTE, couldn't find more to the final sixteenth and weakened. JOST A CHANCE YADI lacked early speed, trailed to the quarter marker and did not factor in the stretch drive.
