AMERICAN DIRECTION gained the early lead, brushed aside his sole foe approaching the quarter pole and held well thereafter under a drive. INHONOROFSONNY forwardly placed along the inside, was outpaced on the turn, angled three wide for the stretch run, stayed on and was clearly second best. NOBLE PRIDE saved ground, was urged to improve on the turn, swung out five wide for the stretch run and displayed mild late interest. BLEU MARTINI was outpaced while three wide and never menaced. ST JOE KMAC raced in striking position while four wide and weakened. GIRVIN'S GAMBIT was outrun while five wide and never involved.
