A GREAT DATE led early then ceded front to BASILICA LIGHT into the first turn, settled off of the quick pace through the backstretch, bid three wide to the far turn, took command then kicked clear at mid-stretch, kept to task to the final sixteenth and held over the oncoming runner-up. BLUSHING TIGER settled early, produced a four wide long drive from the three furlong pole, surged in the final sixteenth and just missed for the win, while besting the rest. LUNETTA JAK settled, saved ground to far turn then tipped out into upper stretch, was gaining in the late stages and got up for third. BASILICA LIGHT off slow then hustled to the early lead, set quick fractions while clear through the backstretch, caught into the far turn, fought on into the stretch and was outfinished late for third. D'ARGENTO BOLT settled in the second flight, chased two to three wide and between foes into the far turn, could not find the needed response into the stretch and weakened. STARSHIP ORION settled outside, no factor. ELECTRIC RUNNER settled, trailed to second turn, no late response.
