Footnotes
THE GREAT OSCAR bothered at the start and off a step slowly, allowed to settle to the backstretch, asked four wide leaving the quarter marker, surged late, got up in time. SIX FORTYFIVE assumed early command and set a decent pace to the second turn, kicked clear to mid-stretch, was all out late and was nailed for the win, while holding for second. BIG BOB well placed inside, got caught in traffic to upper stretch, dove back inside for the final furlong, finished well and just missed for the win and place, while clear of the rest for the show. EXCUSES clipped heels early, recovered and tracked the pace to the backstretch, was roused to the far turn and pressed to the quarter pole, vied for the lead to upper stretch then was outkicked in the final furlong. FLAG OFFICER settled, got caught in traffic into the second turn, swung six wide upper stretch and was gaining late. SEATTLE ROAR broke in at the start and bothered an inner rival, rushed up then stalked the pace to the second turn, could not keep pace in the drive and gave way. STARSHIP MAGELLAN settled, saved ground to quarter pole, angled out to upper stretch, mild late rally. SHACE SLOANE settled, bid three wide to quarter marker, weakened stretch. FOUR BEACH FRIENDS took back, swung five wide upper stretch, no final kick.
