SWEET CHA CHA raced off the pace on the inside then made a strong rail run and brushed with IMAPEPPA near the quarter pole but edged away and battled down the stretch to hold on for the win. IMAPEPPA was away alertly but fell back and resurged to take the lead into the turn while under pressure then was brushed at the quarter pole by SWEET CHA CHA but kept on to battle down the stretch and was outkicked late. SIXTEEN CIGARETTES stalked the pace down the backstretch then made a four wide bid on the turn for the late gain on the place position. SWEN trailed the field to the turn then moved up from four wide, tipped out to five wide in upper stretch and was best of rest. GET READY TO ROCK had a brief early lead then pressed the pace to near the quarter pole and gave way. GRAND JEFE chased the leaders from off the rail then tipped out to four wide in upper stretch but failed to menace. NATURE BOY tracked the leaders to the three furlong marker and was done. STEWARD INQUIRY AND A OBJECTION IMAPEPPA CLAIMED ALLEGED INTERFERENCE AGAINST SWEET CHA CHA WAS POSTED IN THE RUNNING NEAR THE QUARTER POLE, AFTER A STEWARDS REVIEW NO ACTION WAS TAKEN AND THE CLAIM OF FOUL WAS DISALLOWED.
