Footnotes
DOWNING STREET unhurried in the early stages, roused five wide nearing the quarter marker, rallied widest to mid-stretch, continued to close willingly to the final sixteenth, surged in deep stretch and got up in the final stride for a determined win. VENEZUELAN HOPE allowed to settle, mounted a four wide rally to the stretch, led late, was nailed for the win and held for second in a game runner-up effort. CARENTAN rated just off of the early pace, shifted off of the rail into the first turn and floated out a pair rivals along that bend, well placed up the backstretch, made an rail bid to upper stretch, vied for the lead nearing the furlong pole, battled to deep stretch and was outfinished for the win and place in the final strides, while holding safely for the show. BOLD N BREEZY assumed early command, set a moderate pace to the second turn, dug in into upper stretch and led to the furlong grounds, could not hold off oncoming rivals late and yielded in deep stretch. OCALA ROCKET tracked the pace three wide to the backstretch, loomed into the second turn, battled to mid-stretch then was outkicked in the final sixteenth. ENDLESS REIGN settled in the second flight to begin, floated four to five wide along the first turn, tracked the pace four wide to the half-mile marker, chased three wide into the far turn, ran in pursuit to mid-stretch and could not find the needed late response. KALINBA contested the early pace, stalked from the inside into the second turn, could not keep pace to upper stretch and gave way.
