X Y POINT hustled to be forwardly placed away from the start, tracked the pace five then four wide into the turn, asked four wide to upper stretch, confronted MACKOR nearing the furlong grounds and battled that foe to the final sixteenth, wore down that foe into deep stretch and edged away in the final strides. STAR OF THE BEAST settled early, advanced three to four wide and between rivals nearing the top of the stretch, responded well into the final sixteenth, closed willingly in deep stretch and got up for second. MACKOR showed good speed, set the pace from the two path into the turn, met bid of X Y POINT nearing mid-stretch and battled that foe to the final sixteenth, was bested late then was nailed on the wire for second. BREEZER pressed the early pace four then three wide, lost position into upper stretch, fought on to the final sixteenth then was outfinished in deep stretch. BIG AMADEUS took back of of the early pace, chased outside of rivals to the quarter marker, fanned five to six wide to upper stretch, no late kick. FROSTY SHOP pressed the pace two wide then from the inside into the turn, battled to mid-stretch, weakened in the final furlong. BOOMCCHERO raced close up to the early pace while inside of rivals, checked into the turn and lost position leaving the three-eighths, chased from the inside to upper stretch, could not find the needed late response and gave way.
