CRYPTONYM trailed the field to the first turn then steadily advanced from five wide to circle the field to drive past the leaders at the top of the stretch and drew off. EXCUSES was away alertly then settled off the pace on the inside around the first turn then moved up to take the lead going into the final turn and matched strides with LEROY BROWN to the tope of the stretch and fought on to a clear second best. LEROY BROWN raced five wide into the first turn to be forwardly placed down the backstretch then moved between horsed into the final turn to match strides with EXCUSES to the top of the stretch and weakened. SWEET LAZARUS settled off the pace from two wide around the first turn then raced three wide down the backstretch, fell back slightly on the turn giving an even effort throughout. SHOW BOAT raced in the middle of the pace while saving ground and made a mild late bid to improve position. FIGHT CLUB raced in the middle of the pack to the final turn then made a four wide bid but was never a factor. UFO (PER) was in the middle of the pack and passed tiring rivals. ZEN AIR was always near the back and not a threat. BONFIGLIO raced four wide into the first turn then vied for the lead from three wide down the backstretch before dropping back. WORTH THE WAIT pressed the pass around the first turn then took the lead through midway down the backstretch where he was overtaken and gave way.
