R MORNING BREW broke well and pressed the pace from two wide, engaged the leader near the quarter pole and took command into the stretch to win going away. RELIABLE LADY stalked the pace while racing five wide down the backstretch then advanced from three wide around the turn but drifted out and brushed with GRIDLOCK in the final furlong, kept on to be second best. GRIDLOCK trailed the field early then advanced from two wide through the turn and tipped out to four wide in upper stretch, was brushed by RELIABLE LADY in the final furlong while fighting gamely for the show. SUNSET HARBOUR was hustled away to a pressured lead but was headed near the quarter pole and tired. DEFENDED raced off the pace while saving ground to near the quarter pole then gave way. SECRET REVENGE showed brief early speed then dropped back and was outrun. STEWARDS INQUIRY AND JOCKEY OBJECTION WAS POSTED, THE JOCKEY OF GRIDLOCK CLAIMED FOUL AGAINST RELIABLE LADY FOR ALLEGED INTERFERENCE IN THE STRETCH RUN, AFTER A STEWARDS REVIEW IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THERE WAS SLIGHT CONTACT BUT WASN'T ENOUGH TO CHANGE THE ORDER OF FINISH, NO ACTION WAS TAKEN AND THE CLAIM OF FOUL WAS DISALLOWED.
