Footnotes
KALIK settled in the second flight and between rivals into the first turn, was well placed to the backstretch, chased two wide into the far turn, responded into the stretch, edged past the stubborn ACT A FOOL in the final sixteenth and proved best late. ACT A FOOL sent to assume early command, set a moderate pace to the backstretch, showed the way to the quarter marker then dug in to upper stretch, led into the final furlong, stubbornly met the bid of KALIK to the final sixteenth, was bested in deep stretch and just held for second at the wire. ADIOS COLE raced close up to the early pace, tracked three to four wide along the backstretch, well placed to the far turn, bid four wide at the quarter marker, was outkicked to the final sixteenth and just missed for second, while holding for third. AMERICAN SPEED settled two wide and between rivals into the first turn, never far back along the backstretch, advanced into the far turn then angled four wide to upper stretch, was gaining into the final furlong but could not reel in the leaders in deep stretch. HOT BLOODED unhurried in the early going, coaxed along two wide up the backstretch then roused into the far turn, angled out at mid-stretch and found his best stride late. SMART STRIKER rated off of the early pace, saved ground to the backstretch and was well placed heading to the far turn, got caught in a bit of traffic nearing the quarter marker, chased from the inside into the stretch then could not find more in the late stages. SHRUG sent to be prominent in the early going, stalked the pace along the first turn then went up to prompt the pace heading to the half-mile pole, lost position nearing the quarter marker, could not keep pace into upper stretch and gave way in the late stages. MISTER ABARRIO settled off of the early pace, trailed to the half-mile marker, coaxed along two wide to the quarter marker, shifted out for the stretch drive, made a mild rally in the final sixteenth but could not threaten the leaders late. FULL NELSON settled mid-pack and outside of rivals to begin, guided three to four wide into the far turn, swung six wide to upper stretch, chased the leaders to the furlong grounds then weakened in the final stages.
