FREDERICKSBURG off slow away from the gate, settled early on while never far back, was caught in tight while between runners approaching the half-mile marker, chased from the inside into the second turn, mounted a rail bid at the quarter marker then vied for the lead to upper stretch, took a narrow lead to the furlong grounds, dug in into the final sixteenth while on the left lead and held off foes in deep stretch to prevail. WILL OF A WARRIOR settled off of the early pace while never far back, tracked the moderate pace three to four wide up the backstretch, asked for run into the far turn, vied for the lead four wide into the lane and battled to mid-stretch, fought gamely to the final sixteenth, could not get by the determined winner in deep stretch and held at the wire for second. J SQUARED broke alertly, took early command then showed the way into the first turn, carved out the moderate pace along the backstretch, came under pressure into the far turn, met bids while two wide and between foes at the quarter pole, fought gamely to mid-stretch, stubbornly battled on into the final sixteenth and was bested by the top pair in deep stretch. LAST RUN settled just off of the early pace and between rivals into the first turn, tracked the moderate pace to the half-mile point, asked for run three wide into the far turn, was caught in traffic at the quarter marker and swung out for the stretch drive then was outkicked in the final furlong. CALVINO away in good order, was prominent in the early stages and attended to the moderate pace into the backstretch, went up and pressed the pace into the far turn, vied for the lead three wide into the lane, could not keep pace approaching the furlong grounds and weakened in the drive. GEMSTONE WARRIOR settled and saved ground into the first turn, maintained a rail trip up the backstretch and was well placed heading to the far turn, was caught in tight leaving the three-eighths pole and checked midway along the second turn, lost position nearing the quarter marker then trailed the rest of the way. THERE WAS A STEWARDS' INQUIRY INTO THE RUNNING ALONG THE FAR TURN. IN ADDITION THE JOCKEY OF GEMSTONE WARRIOR LODGED AN OBJECTION AGAINST THE JOCKEY OF FREDERICKSBURG, CLAIMING INTERFERENCE AT THE FIVE-SIXTEENTHS MARKER. THE STEWARDS DISALLOWED THE OBJECTION AND RULED THERE WOULD BE NO CHANGE.
