CORISTINE broke swiftly to claim a ground saving lead going into the first turn, continued up the backstretch as the clear pace setter, was encroached upon by PAX MUNDI rounding the far turn, began his drive in the upper stretch and pulled away from that foe to finish firmly. PAX MUNDI settled off the pace two wide for the first turn, waited patiently before ranging up three wide through the far turn, pressed the pace briefly but was repelled in the final furlong. PARNASSUS was a bit reluctant to load the starting gate, settled off the pace along the inside for the first turn, moved close up to the pace between runners travelling up the backstretch, was shuffled back by YASTRZEMSKI entering the far turn and repositioned to four wide, proceeded to show a decent rally but was too little too late. YASTRZEMSKI found a forward position three wide entering the first turn, shifted in a path to stalk the pace two wide midway up the backstretch, began nudging inside the half-mile marker but was lacking in response, backed off through the far turn and showed little in the stretch. FLAMEFIRE trailed for most, passed fader in the stretch. MARY'S MEMPHIS chased the pace from the inside, was keen rounding the first turn forcing the rider to keep a tight rein, relaxed nearing the five-eighths to continue rating up the backstretch, was roused around the three-eighths but came up empty and weakened down the lane.
