COOEY was sent to contest the early pace with TRAVIESA, dueled outside of that rival into the turn, shook free nearing the quarter marker then met the bid of WITH KINDNESS to upper stretch, battled that runner to mid-stretch then lost the lead inside of the furlong pole, fought back into the final sixteenth and gamely won the head nod on the wire to prevail. WITH KINDNESS was forwardly placed away from the start, rated off of the dueling early leaders and was well placed to the turn, bid three wide nearing the quarter marker, confronted COOEY to upper stretch then took a narrow lead over that rival at the furlong marker, battled gamely to the final sixteenth and just missed for the win, while well clear of the rest for second. TAPIT'S MISCHIEF broke alertly then took back off of the contested early pace, roused three to four wide nearing the quarter marker, was no match for the top pair into the stretch and was clear of the rest late for third. PLUM PERFECT veered in at the start and crowded STORM WEST, chased the early pace from the inside, ran in pursuit two then three wide into the turn, ran on to upper stretch then weakened in the final furlong. STORM WEST was crowded by an outer rival and nearly fell leaving the start, spotted the field to begin and trailed along the backstretch, inched closer to the rest of the field nearing the top of the lane but failed to threaten in the late stages. TRAVIESA was hustled to contest the early pace, engaged with COOEY and dueled inside of that rival into the turn, disputed a quick pace into the bend then was turned away nearing the quarter marker, could not keep pace to upper stretch and gave way in the drive. THERE WAS A JOCKEY'S CLAIM OF FOUL LODGED BY THE RIDER OF WITH KINDNESS, CLAIMING INTERFERENCE AGAINST THE RIDER OF COOEY IN THE STRETCH DRIVE. THE STEWARDS DISALLOWED THAT OBJECTION AND RULED THERE WOULD BE NO CHANGE.
