Footnotes
DOGWOOD CROSSING took back off of the early pace, roused three wide to the quarter marker, vied four wide into the stretch, took command past the furlong pole and dug in while under pressure nearing the sixteenth-marker, held off VINO'S VALENTINE in deep stretch and lasted for the win at the wire. VINO'S VALENTINE chased the early pace from the inside, angled four wide nearing the quarter marker, spun five wide to upper stretch and rallied to the furlong pole, vied for the lead into the final sixteenth, was denied for the win in deep stretch and was clear for the place. HE BE HOPPIN a step slow leaving the start, tracked the early pace from the inside, got caught in traffic nearing the quarter marker, split rivals into upper stretch and bid to the furlong grounds, needed more in the final stages but stayed on late to be clear for third. TO THE MAX close up to the early pace, chased two to three wide into the turn, vied for the lead at the quarter marker, was outkicked to the furlong ground and faded in the late stages. WHAT IT TIZ took back off of the early pace, swung six wide to upper stretch, gave chase to the furlong grounds then flattened out late. MULLY'S MOON showed good early speed, assumed command and set the pace to the quarter pole, overtaken to upper stretch and gave way in the final furlong. JAKER fractious prior to the start, settled off of the early pace, saved ground to the quarter marker and lacked the needed late response. THE GREAT EMPIRE was crowded at the start and off slowly, lacked early speed, coaxed two wide to the quarter marker and did not factor in the stretch drive. GOLDINTHESKY broke a bit awkwardly, lacked early speed, coaxed three to four wide into the turn and did not threaten late.
