LANGVAD showed speed away from the start, contested the early pace up the backstretch then shook free into the turn, met the bid of HAWK at the quarter marker and battled inside of that rival into upper stretch, dueled gamely to the final sixteenth and determinedly won the nod on the wire to prevail. HAWK rated off of the early pace while never far back, loomed into the turn, confronted LANGVAD nearing the quarter marker and battled while on even terms with that rival into upper stretch, gamely dueled into the final sixteenth and just missed for the win, while holding for second. STAR OF THE GUN got shuffled back at the start and was off slowly, allowed to settle in the early stages, was roused four wide to the quarter marker, responded into the stretch and was gaining late, could not reel in the top pair in deep stretch and was a clear third. ACTION DELIGHT allowed to settle early, shifted off of the rail into the turn, mounted a five wide bid to upper stretch, could not keep pace with the leaders into the final furlong and was outkicked late. SUPREME HONOR off a step slow leaving the start, was unhurried in the early stages, swung five wide to upper stretch, needed more in the lane and passed tiring rivals in the final stages. TEDDY BEAR settled in the early stages, coaxed two to three wide to the quarter marker, could not muster the needed late response. BOLERO BAY disputed the early pace from inside of LANGVAD, chased that rival into the turn, ran in pursuit while within range nearing the quarter marker, was outkicked into the stretch drive and gave way in the final furlong. CLASSIC EQUATION took back off of the decent early pace, coaxed three wide to the quarter pole and lacked a final response. WIN N WIN vied for the early lead from between rivals, took back and tracked the pace two wide into the turn, could not keep pace heading to the quarter marker and came up empty in the stretch. THE TRAINER OF HAWK LODGED AN OBJECTION AGAINST LANGVAD, CLAIMING INTERFERENCE IN THE STRETCH RUN. THE STEWARDS DISALLOWED THAT OBJECTION AND RULED THERE WOULD BE NO CHANGE.
