Footnotes
CARENTAN was prominent leaving the start, stalked the decent pace two then three wide into the backstretch, chased DRINK N WINK into the far turn and confronted that rival at the quarter marker, battled into the stretch, shook free from the stubborn DRINK N WINK nearing the final sixteenth and edged away late for the win. DIMANCHE GRAS was forwardly placed leaving the start then took back into the first turn, unhurried to the half-mile pole, roused four to five wide along the far turn, responded well into the stretch and rallied into the final sixteenth, could not reel in CARENTAN in deep stretch and held safely in the end for second. DRINK N WINK took early command and showed the way into the first turn, set a decent pace while well handled along the backstretch, met the bid of CARENTAN into the far turn and battled that rival into the stretch, was repelled by the winner nearing the sixteenth-pole and was outfinished late for second, while clear of the rest for third. SOUPER CRUNCHY prominent away from the start, got caught a bit in tight while inside of runners on the run to the first turn, tracked the decent pace while saving ground up the backstretch, chased into the far turn then angled to three path at the quarter marker, ran in pursuit into the stretch and lacked the needed late response. ALASDAIR allowed to settle in the early stages, was unhurried to the half-mile pole, asked for run three then four wide to the stretch, could not muster the needed late response. SHERMAN FURY rated just off of the early pace, was well placed while tracking the decent pace along the backstretch, chased two wide and between runners heading to the quarter marker, lacked the needed response to upper stretch and gave way. SECRET BAGENT MAN broke a step slow and was allowed to settle early, saved ground into the backstretch, maintained an inside path to the far turn then chased to the quarter marker, could not find more into the stretch and weakened late.
