Footnotes
EXCUSES broke alertly and was sent for the early lead, set a moderate pace into the backstretch, showed the way to the quarter marker then kicked clear to upper stretch, kept to task while clear into the final furlong, was fully extended into the final sixteenth and lasted for the win over the oncoming runner-up. SKI BUM settled between rivals into the first turn, was unhurried along the backstretch while not far back, angled out and bid four then three wide at the quarter marker, chased EXCUSES into upper stretch, responded and surged in the final sixteenth, just missed for the win and was well clear for second. CAPT'N PIKE settled off of the early pace then got shuffled into the first turn, was unhurried to the backstretch, advanced outside of rivals into the far turn, swung four wide to upper stretch, was no match for the top pair in the drive and ran on late to earn the show honors. NUMINOUS settled outside of rivals into the first turn, tracked the pace three then four wide along the backstretch, chased into the far turn then bid two wide at the quarter pole, was outkicked in the stretch drive and was outfinished late for the show honors. GOLDINTHESKY was forwardly placed leaving the start, settled just off of the early leaders and saved ground to the first turn, was well placed to the half-mile marker, chased from the inside into the far turn and lacked the needed response in the stretch drive. EL MUHEET settled off of the early pace, saved ground to the first turn, was unhurried while never far back along the backstretch, coaxed along the rail then two wide nearing the quarter marker, got caught a bit in tight between rivals into upper stretch, shifted out at the furlong grounds and did not rally late. GREAT HUNT raced close up to the early pace, stalked the pace two wide into the backstretch, chased into the far turn, gave way to upper stretch and did not offer a final response.
