FLYING LIAM was prominent away from the start, attended to the early pace outside of SWIRVIN, pressed that rival two to three wide into the turn, battled into the lane, wore down SWIRVIN into the final sixteenth and drew clear in deep stretch. SWIRVIN broke alertly, vied for the early lead then took a narrow advantage along the backstretch run, set a pressured pace into the turn, drifted to the three path to upper stretch and dueled FLYING LIAM to the furlong marker, continued that battle past mid-stretch, was turned away into the final sixteenth and was clear of the rest for second. ADMIRAL MO was unhurried in the early running, saved ground into the turn, angled off of the rail and was roused three wide to upper stretch, bid between rivals at the furlong pole, could not match strides with the leading pair into the final sixteenth but ran on well late and was clear in the end for third. SOUND OF THE BEAST was close up to the early pace while outside of rivals, chased four wide into the turn, spun five wide to upper stretch, lacked the needed late response and was outkicked for the show honors. BANDED ROCKET broke awkwardly and was a step slow leaving the start, allowed to settle in the early running, advanced two wide nearing the quarter marker then chased the leading pair into upper stretch, could not sustain his run to the final sixteenth and faltered late. ALARIK (CHI) got shuffled back a bit in the early going while between rivals, recovered and chased the leading pair three to four wide heading into the turn, ran in pursuit to upper stretch, could not find more into the final furlong and gave way in the final sixteenth. WITHOUT PRETENCE was hustled to be forwardly placed leaving the start, tracked the leading pair while saving ground heading into the turn, weakened nearing the quarter pole and lacked a final response.
