Footnotes
VALID SENSE was prominent leaving the start, disputed the early pace from inside of runners along the backstretch, took a narrow lead into the turn and set a pressured pace heading to the quarter pole, dug in into upper stretch and held off foes into the stretch drive, kept to task to the final sixteenth and held late for a determined win. FREEDOM STREET settled in the second flight and between rivals in the early running, roused four wide into the turn, loomed to upper stretch then chased to the furlong grounds, closed well into the final sixteenth, could not reel in the winner in deep stretch but got up in time for the place. TIME FOR RESTRAINT was forwardly placed in the early running, went up and pressed the pace three deep into the turn, vied for the lead to upper stretch, stubbornly battled past mid-stretch, was held at bay into the final sixteenth and just missed for third at the wire. SHOW BOAT was unhurried leaving the start, trailed into the turn, swung widest to upper stretch, found his best stride late and came up just short in the final yards. AUTHENTIC HONOUR was hustled away from the start, tracked the early pace from the inside, saved ground to the turn and was well placed nearing the quarter pole, chased from the rail to upper stretch, ran in pursuit heading to the final sixteenth and did not rally late. HILLBILLY BOB vied for the early lead then took a narrow advantage in the opening furlong, disputed the pace between rivals into the turn, lost position into upper stretch, fought on into the stretch, could not find more in the final sixteenth and faded late. WHAT IT TIZ got shuffled back in the early stages, chased the pace from the inside approaching the turn, maintained a rail path to upper stretch, shifted out past mid-stretch and did not offer the needed late response. FLY COMMANDER raced close up to the early pace while outside of rivals, tracked the pace four wide into the turn, spun five wide leaving the quarter marker and was outkicked to mid-stretch, weakened in the drive and lacked a final response. ENZITO broke slowly and was last away from the gate, rushed up between rivals in the early going, chased the leaders two wide and between foes into the turn, was outkicked into the stretch drive and gave way in the final stages. THE GREAT EMPIRE settled off of the contested early pace, coaxed three then four wide heading to the quarter marker, got caught in traffic between rivals into the final furlong and did not rally late.
