ON THE PAYROLL contested the early pace from outside of rivals, took command then set the pace to the turn, kicked clear nearing the quarter marker and showed the way to upper stretch while in hand, widened the lead into the stretch, kept to task under steady urging into the final furlong, felt late pressure and held for the win in deep stretch. HEIR TO THE ROAR allowed to settle away from the start, coaxed along outside of rivals heading into the turn, bid four wide to upper stretch, chased ON THE PAYROLL to mid-stretch then closed willingly to the final sixteenth, was gaining in deep stretch but could not reel in the winner late and held safely for the place. VAYESTA unhurried away from the start, trailed to the turn then was roused five to six wide to upper stretch, finished well into the final sixteenth, could not reel in the top pair late and was clear for third. ST. OLAF ROSE settled in the early stages, ran in pursuit between rivals heading into the turn, angled three to four wide to upper stretch, needed more in the final sixteenth and mounted a mild late bid. ROCKETS SISTER was forwardly placed away from the start, took back and tracked from the inside heading into the turn, saved ground to the quarter pole then ran in pursuit into the lane, got caught in a bit of traffic past mid-stretch, needed more late and offered a mild rally. PARTY SHAKER disputed the early pace from between rivals, took back and stalked from the inside heading into the turn, chased ON THE PAYROLL nearing the quarter marker, churned on to mid-stretch, could not find more in the late stages and weakened. WARDA settled off of the early pace while not far back, tracked outside of rivals along the backstretch, chased three deep heading into the turn, ran in pursuit of ON THE PAYROLL into upper stretch, was outkicked to the furlong pole and did not rally late. HAPPY RIDE was prominent in the early going, chased the pace between rivals heading into the turn, lost position nearing the top of the lane then gave way in the drive.
