Footnotes
CALL ME PRECIOUS was prominent away from the start, rated nicely off of the early pace and was well placed into the backstretch, bid two wide and between foes to the far turn, took command and led to upper stretch, drew clear into the final furlong, kept to task to the final sixteenth and held safely late under steady urging. BIRCH RUN lugged in a bit at the start and crowded inner rivals, settled off of the early pace then was caught a bit in tight into the first turn, got to the rail along the backstretch, advanced from the inside heading into the far turn, bid two wide and between foes to upper stretch, was gaining into the final sixteenth, could not reel in the winner late and was second best. BROWN DIAMOND vied for the early lead from between rivals, took command into the first turn then set the pace into the backstretch, came under pressure approaching the far turn, was overtaken by CALL ME PRECIOUS and chased that rival into the stretch, was outkicked for second and held clearly for third. KEEPSAKE BOX got squeezed at the start and was off slowly, recovered and was forwardly placed to the first turn, tracked the moderate pace to the half-mile marker, chased three wide into the far turn, spun four wide for the stretch drive, ran in pursuit to the furlong grounds and lacked the needed late response. SCARLET WAVE showed early speed and stalked the pace three deep into the first turn, tracked the moderate pace into the backstretch then vied for the lead three deep heading into the far turn, was outkicked into the stretch and weakened in the final sixteenth. BEAUTIFUL JUSTIFY settled while not far back early on, tracked three then four wide into the first turn, took back into the backstretch run, trailed into the far turn, saved ground to the quarter marker and did not offer a late response. COLONIAL SENSE got bumped then squeezed at the start and was off slowly, settled and saved ground to the first turn, shifted out into the backstretch and tracked between rivals heading to the half-mile marker, was outrun into the far turn and tired in the late stages. HURRICANE OPUS was hard to load prior to the start, broke alertly then took back into the first turn, settled between rivals into the backstretch, ran in pursuit three then four wide nearing the far turn, could not keep pace heading to the quarter marker, was eased through the stretch and walked off.
