MESSAGE OF HOPE (IRE) allowed to settle while never far back, tracked the decent pace between rivals into the backstretch, got to the rail heading into the far turn then bid at the quarter marker, took command to upper stretch, kicked clear at the furlong grounds then drew away under late hand urging. TAPSTICK settled away from the start, advanced outside of rivals into the first turn, made a four wide middle move along the backstretch then vied for the lead to the far turn, could not keep pace with the winner into the stretch and was a clear second. LEROY BROWN settled and saved ground to the first turn, was unhurried while not far back through the backstretch run, saved ground to the far turn then angled out to upper stretch, lacked the needed response in the drive but ran on late to earn the show honors. SECRET POWER settled to the first turn, got floated wide entering the backstretch then tracked the pace outside of rivals heading to the half-mile, chased three wide to the quarter marker, could not muster the needed late response in the stretch and just missed for third at the wire. MAGIC RED broke alertly, vied for the early lead inside of rivals then took command into the first turn, set a moderate pace to the half-mile marker, was pressured into the far turn then overtaken nearing the quarter pole, could not keep pace to upper stretch and faded in the lane. ANIMATED broke slowly and was unhurried early on, saved ground along the backstretch, coaxed outside of rivals into the far turn and roused four wide to the quarter pole, could not find the needed response in the stretch and passed tiring rivals late. SAN MARTIN was forwardly placed away from the start, stalked the early pace three deep to the first turn, well placed while tracking along the backstretch run, pressed the pace between rivals into the far turn, lost position approaching the quarter marker and tired in the stretch. ZIO MO was prominent away from the gate, contested the early pace between rivals then stalked the pace into the backstretch, dropped back heading to the far turn, stopped into upper stretch and was not persevered with late.
