Footnotes
PLUM IRISH bumped with BELLE OF THE SOUTH near the half-mile pole, prompted the pace three wide, battled outside to deep stretch and edged ahead under left-handed urging. LOIS' COURAGE vied between foes down the backstretch, led two wide around the turn, kicked clear in upper stretch but could not withstand the winner late. SWEET SASH raced off the pace four wide and ran on to gain the show. BELLE OF THE SOUTH bumped near the half-mile pole, chased the pace three wide and lacked the needed rally. SPATULA dueled at the rail and gave way midway around the turn. INALLPROBABILITY was outrun inside. AVE FENIX dwelt at the start and trailed inside. THE STEWARDS CONDUCTED AN INQUIRY INTO THE START AND TOOK NO ACTION.
