Footnotes
PILLAR OF BEAUTY stalked the pace from the rail, got through inside of the pacesetter in upper stretch, took over nearing the sixteenth pole and kicked clear late. ELENIQUE chased the pace three wide between foes, bid nearing the eighth pole, reached even terms leaving the eighth pole but was no match for the winner late. MERMAID chased the pace two wide between foes, angled in near the five-sixteenths pole, swung five wide in upper stretch and rallied for the show. HORSING AROUND raced up close inside early, steadied entering the turn and twice more around the bend then re-rallied at the rail in the lane. CALYPSO MOON broke a bit slowly, advanced four wide around the turn, kept on outside in the lane, collapsed of apparent heat stroke post-race then walked off. BONNE SANTE steadied nearing the turn, raced two and three wide off the pace, steadied nearing the eighth pole and again in deep stretch while always in traffic. CHATELOT prompted the pace two wide and weakened in the drive. ROYAL RETINUE (IRE) set the pace along the rail and tired in the drive. QUALITY OF ESSENCE was shut off just after the start, saved ground and never threatened. FIDELA played no factor while racing five wide.
