JACK'S PROMISE stumbled at the start while breaking alertly, vied for the early lead in between rivals and then went on to duel for command on the inside by the half mile marker, fell back briefly by the five sixteenths but was asked and responded to vie for command by the quarter pole on the inside, came three wide off the bend and dug in gamely by the furlong marker and prevailed late to prove best under a drive. BEACH COLT (CHI) vied for the early lead after alert start and then dueled for the lead on the outside of the winner by the half mile marker, two wide on the turn and then vied for command in between rivals by the quarter pole, came four wide off the bend and fought on gamely but was out-gamed late to miss. AMERICAN MONARCH chased the early pace and then tracked the leaders two wide on the turn and was well placed by the quarter pole, came three wide off the bend and moved in for racing room and was slowly gaining up the inside but needed more. NESHUME tracked the early pace three wide and made a three wide bid to vie for command by the quarter pole, came five wide off the bend but was out-finished in the final furlong. PURE CLASS was settled early and raced two to three wide on the turn but lacked a rally. SAINT TAPIT was reserved early, two to four wide on the turn and came five wide into the lane but never threatened. SOUPER QUEST showed good early speed to vie for command in the first furlong and then tracked the leaders from the inside and fell back on the turn then stopped.
