Footnotes
OCELOT came away from the gate sluggishly and was given a reminder from the rider to get into the race, settled well off the pace near the rear, then started a forward move late on the backstretch, dropped down to the rail into the far turn, had to wait for room, split horses into upper stretch, then finished strong to win clear. ILLUSTRATOR was held up in last through the early stages, then moved up into contention on the far turn, and finished up well to gain the place in a tight finish for second. WOW THAT'S HOT dueled inside of BOBBY BRINKLEY to the far turn, was being confidently ridden to the stretch, then responded when set down, fought on gamely, then weakened a bit in deep stretch. REGAL TERKA settled mid-pack early, lacked room to make a bid through the far turn, then went evenly through the stretch. RUDDY BUDDY got a good stalking position early, just behind the leaders. moved up to join that pair heading into the far turn, but struggled to get on even terms, came under a ride approaching the quarter pole, went five-wide into the stretch, and lacked a finish. BRUCELEA settled in mid-pack four-wide early, then went six-wide through the far turn and lacked a rally. BOBBY BRINKLEY dueled early with WOW THAT'S HOT, raced two-wide onto the main course from the chute, put a head in front heading down the backstretch, came under a stiff drive on the far turn, but was outfinished in the stretch.
