KNOCK KNOCK JOKE lacked early speed and was last down the backstretch, circled the field four-wide on the turn to be within striking distance at the top of the stretch, continued the rally, made the lead inside the sixteenth pole, and won clear in the end. MIKEL W was sent from the outside post, cleared the field and moved over to the inside before the turn, led the way through the turn under confident handling, was no match for the winner, but fought off a host of challengers in the stretch to take the second prize. MIND BOLT got away well, settled just off the early pace three-wide, moved up to challenge passing the five-sixteenths pole, finished willingly but came up short for 2nd in a mad scramble in the final yards. GOLDEN GRIT was two-deep in the second flight, made a bid up the rail in the stretch, finished well, but came up short. RISK IT raced four-wide in the second flight, loomed four-wide at the top of the stretch, put in a good late run but was not quite doing enough in the late stages. ZAVALA raced close up to the half-mile pole, the steadily retreated to the back on the turn and was not a factor in the late stages. HERE COMES BRAYLON raced three to four wide at the back of the field, finished with some interest, but could not improve.
