ETERNAL MISCHIEF broke well and got a good position early without really being asked, tracked in mid-pack through the first half, then bided time through the far turn, split horses in upper stretch, got a head in front mid-stretch, and prevailed in a spirited dash to the wire. BAKER HAYFIELD settled just behind the leading pair through the early stages, bided time behind horses on the far turn, gota dream trip on the rail into the stretch, and finished with good energy. ZORRO D' ORO dueled/pressed the early pace two-wide to the outside of MISCHIEVOUS INTENT, briefly led passing the quarter pole, dug in when beset by a host of challengers at the top of the stretch, battled gamely to the wire, but missed. RENTON was allowed to settle near the back, kicked on well late but came up short in a good effort. BUCK O FIVE tracked in the back half of the field, moved up through the stretch to loom a threat five-wide into the stretch ut could not sustain the bid enough to pose a threat. BORDERLAND settled behind early while getting to the rail, gradually moved closer through the middle stages, but was unable to generate much of a late kick. VERRAZANO'S GOLD took up and shuffled back after the start, drifted out on the first turn four-to-five wide, continued to race in the same path down the backstretch, then lacked a finish. MISCHIEVOUS INTENT dueled for the early lead inside of ZORRO D'ORO through moderate fractions, weakened passing the quarter pole and had nothing left for the stretch run.
