Footnotes
SECURED broke well and sent for the early lead, set a measured pace with a trio of challengers in proximity to the turn, led a pair of those rivals through the turn while being confidently handled, was briefly headed near the quarter pole by POWERWASHED but responded when set down approaching the stretch and drew clear under steady handling and intermittent urging. SAY AS I SAY settled behind the pace battle, then dropped to last on the turn, angled out to the three path on the turn, then rallied under strong handling and urging to gain second. POWERWASHED was a bit slow into stride, but moved up to join the leaders in the initial furlong, vied through wide for the lead through the turn, put a head in front passing the quarter pole, but weakened in upper stretch. STRIKE THE BELL broke on top, then contested the pace racing well off the rail down the backstretch, struggled to keep up midway through the turn and was out finished in the late stages. AVALING tracked out in the four or five path down the backstretch in last position but not far from the leaders, launched a rally midway through the turn, still wide, but flattened out and was unable to threaten. THAT WAS EASY was the inside horse in a four-way scramble for the early lead, dropped back before the turn, and chased from last the rest of the way.
