Footnotes
TURQUOISE BLUE was allowed to settle after the break, raced in mid-pack down the backstretch, then moved up closer approaching the turn, got a clean run in the two-path, loomed boldly passing the quarter pole, gradually closed in on FLOTATION STATION on the lead, and got up in the final yards. FLOTATION STATION broke well, pressed OUR PACT down the backstretch, took command passing the seven-sixteenths marker, held a clear lead through the turn while being confidently handled, responded kindly when roused at the head of the stretch, then got a little short in the final yards and could not hold off the winner. TO TOO TWENTYTWO raced four-wide in the tracking group to the turn, responded when asked to go on approaching the three-furlong pole, came under pressure at the top of the stretch, could not threaten the top two but finished well enough to move up into third. OUR PACT broke well and put a head in front in the initial furlong with FLOTATION STATION shadowing to the outside, could not go with that one from the seven-sixteenths marker, yielded the lead, then came under a ride through the turn and finished evenly. OUR MOON PIE raced in the second flight between horses, made a mild bid early on the turn, then struggled to keep pace and faltered in the stretch. HOLIDAY RUN was outrun and fell far back in the early stages, then failed to mount a rally. CLEMENTS RIDE chased from well behind the pace, then dropped further behind in the stretch.
