Footnotes
GOLD PRIZE was unhurried from the start, settled at the back of the back early with a gap to the rest, bided time down the backstretch, was sent forward with three furlongs to run, rallied five-wide into the stretch, and finished with a rush under strong handling to be along in time. AUSTIN CRUISE settled near the back through the early stages, saved ground throughout, was in a bit tight in upper stretch, surged when clear, but was too late. MOHAYMEN HOLIDAY assumed the early lead without really being asked, then was left to dictate the pace, settled in a comfortable rhythm through the middle stages, responded when set down leaving the quarter pole, dug in under a threat through the stretch but was overtaken in the final yards. TREVAGGIO raced between horses in the tracking group, got an inside run into the stretch, finished up well, but came up on the short end of the three-way photo for the minor award. COVERT KAT raced four-wide throughout, had some trouble with the lead change in upper stretch, and was outfinished late. ONE TIME MARK tracked the early pace three-to-four wide to the far turn, then flattened out in the stretch. SHOGUN BE FAST was the inside horse in the tracking group, raced close up to the stretch, checked hard at the sixteenth marker, and lost all chance.
