BRUCELEA dropped back after a level start, tracked two-wide between horses to the stretch, went through a seam in upper stretch, produced a good late surge under a strong hand ride, and ran down the leader in the shadow of the wire. BALSA was away well, took a slight lead early, with CARBONE keeping close to the outside, turned for home with a clear lead, and finished up well,but was unable to last. CARBONE ptressed the pace two-wide, finished well in a three-way sprint to the wire but came up short. BAD BEAT BRIAN was allowed to settle from the break, moved up the inside heading into the turn, responded when set down for the sprint to the wire, loomed a big threat in deep stretch, but was outfinished in the final yards. STAYED IN FOR HALF raced four-wide early, then outfinished in the stretch and was unable to improve. BLUE LIGHT was outpaced down the backstretch, chased the field from the back, made a mild bid coming off the last turn, but struggled with the lead change and faltered.
