DIMATIC was well placed while outside of rivals in the early going, tracked the decent pace three to four wide nearing the half-mile marker, chased WITHOUT A TRACE to the quarter pole then determinedly closed in the lane, wore down the game runner-up in the final sixteenth and pushed past in deep stretch to prevail. WITHOUT A TRACE hustled away from the gate, assumed early command and set the pace to the backstretch, carved out a decent pace to the quarter marker, dug in into upper stretch and fought gamely while holding off rivals into the final furlong, switched to the left lead in deep stretch and was bested for the win in the final yards, while well clear of the rest for second. MR JAWS settled in the early stages while never far back, ran in pursuit of the leaders two wide along the far turn, got outkicked into the final furlong, kept on in the late stages and held safely in the end for third. PRESIDENTIAL prominent in the early stages, stalked the decent pace two wide and between rivals to the backstretch, bid between foes nearing the quarter pole, lost ground into upper stretch, could not find more in the final furlong and weakened. STANS HOME RUN unhurried in the early going, saved ground to the half-mile marker, shifted out into the far turn, angled widest to upper stretch and lacked the needed late response.
