Footnotes
FORT HOOD traded bumps at the start but was away in good order, showed early speed and contested the pace along the backstretch, pressed into the turn then vied for the lead at the quarter marker, battled SON OF A BLING to upper stretch then put away that rival into the final furlong, drew away in the lane and kept to task under moderate urging in the final stages. ALGEBRA brushed with FORT HOOD leaving the break but was away in good order, tracked the early pace from between rivals, was well placed while two wide to the turn, angled three wide to upper stretch and rallied to the furlong marker, could not keep pace with the winner into the final sixteenth and was second best. BANDERA BLING broke in at the start and was off a step slowly, recovered to be forwardly placed in the early stages, tracked the pace while saving ground into the turn, chased from the inside into upper stretch, angled out at the furlong marker, could not match strides with the top pair late and ran on to earn the show honors. HARD GOLD tracked the early pace while widest along the backstretch, chased four wide into the turn, ran in pursuit while widest to upper stretch, needed more in the final sixteenth and was outkicked late for third. SON OF A BLING broke alertly, showed good speed away from the gate and contested the early pace with FORT HOOD, dueled inside of that runner heading into the turn, battled that rival into the lane, could not keep pace into the final furlong and faded in the final sixteenth. HEZAKOOLKAT broke a bit slowly, recovered to track the early pace from between rivals, was well placed while three wide and between foes heading to the turn, chased three wide to the quarter pole then was outkicked to upper stretch, could not find more in the drive and weakened late. IBERIAN RUNNER settled off of the early pace then saved ground to the turn, maintained an inside path to the stretch, could not muster the needed late response and failed to threaten in the final stages. SAMSPLAYERSLOUNGE took back in the early stages, coaxed two wide to the quarter pole, lacked the needed response into the stretch and did not factor late.
