AVALING was outpaced after the start, was moving forward down the backstretch run, steadied and altered course near the half-mile pole, then made a strong move through the turn, had aim on SASSY FLYER turning into the stretch, and drove clear under steady handling in the final furlong. SASSY FLYER hustled from the break, made the early running with a couple of rivals in pursuit, opened up through the turn, then battled back briefly when challenged by AVAILING late on the turn, surrendered the lead in upper stretch but kept on to hold the place despite the rider losing the crop at the eighth pole. I'M ON EDGE was under a ride from the start but steadily lost ground on the backstretch run, found best stride in the late, and finished well to gain third. FIND THE LIGHT broke well, was briefly up with the pace, then backed off to a mid-pack tracking position, advanced under some coaxing through the turn to gain connection, then was not quite doing enough in the stretch to threaten. SCATTERED MISCHIEF settled mid-pack four-wide, then lacked a rally in the stretch. JUST TICKLED pressed the pace two-wide then weakened in the stretch run. LIGHT A SHUCK got bumped at the start by JUST TICKLED, dropped far behind early, and was never a factor. CALEB'S CANDY broke well, raced on the inside just behind the pace, saved ground through the turn, then tired in the stretch.
