Footnotes
AS ONE DOES secured good forward position early, tracked close up just behind the pace to the far turn, bided time, then tipped out three-wide at the head of the stretch, responded when set down and got first run, then kept a fast closing rival at bay to prevail. HEDGE THE RISK settled inside at the back, then advanced closer up the inside in the run down the backstretch, angled out to the two or three path through the far turn, then five-wide into the stretch, finished strong but could not get to the winner despite giving a good effort. STREET ROCKIN tracked three-wide early, moved closer late on the backstretch, launched a bid with three furlongs to run, moved up into third but could not match stride with the top two in the final yards. FLYING TEX settled near the back early, saved ground through the far turn, finished with some interest to improve while never a serious threat. DEVIL'S MISCHIEF was sent hard from the break to get forward position, stalked two-wide behind SUMMER HELP through the first half, moved to challenge for the lead midway on the turn, put a head in front past the quarter pole, then was outkicked in the stretch run. SUMMER HELP broke well, made the early running, setting solid fractions, then weakened in the stretch. MOON FACTOR broke well but was held up at the back, did not respond when asked to go on the far turn and did not threaten. STEWBALL settled in mid-pack, had to be coaxed a bit early on the backstretch to maintain position, then dropped to last before the turn, and was outrun the rest of the way and not persevered with in the late stages.
