ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN was under urging from the start to get forrward position, settled on the rail in cover behind the early pace mix, waited for room through the far turn, bid up the rail at the three-sixteenths, lost the path, then altered course to the two-path and surged to the front in the final yards under strong handling. QUALITY STYLE showed the best speed from the break and won the race into the first turn, led the way down the backstretch with several in close attendance to the pace, responded when asked to quicken midway through the far turn, went a length clear in upper stretch, but could not hold off the winner in the final yards despite a good effort. DOWN THE ISLANDS was off a step slow, tried to take back but pulled four-wide through the first turn, advanced close to the leaders down the backstretch, continued to race wide through the far turn, then rallied down the middle of the course to gain the minor award. ROARING RAPIDS raced three wide, pressuring the early pace, made a four-wide bid for the lead at the top of the stretch, but failed to change to the proper lead and faltered. ARIES HONOR got away from the gate a bit awkwardly, then was coaxed early to get up with the leaders, pressed the pace two-wide down the backstretch, launched a bid for the lead approaching the quarter pole, but flattened out some and was outfinished. WITHERING GAZE settled between horses in the back half of the field, raced on the wrong lead through the stretch, and was unable to threaten. RICKIE ROOOO STER took back from the start, saved ground throughout, then was stuck behind horses into the stretch. then lacked a bid once clear. ROYALIST settled near the back, then lacked a rally.
