HUNT MASTER went to a clear lead early, led the way to the far turn, always traveling well, responded when roused at the top of the stretch, found another gear, and drew away through the stretch, drifting out some in the final furlong. EXCAPING THE BLUES broke on top but ceded the front and settled in along the rail off the pace, moved closer on the backstretch run, was unable to kick on with the winner in upper stretch, but finished up well to save second. OCELOT got shuffled back at the start, then moved to the inside and was allowed to settle at the back after the break, made a mild rally in the stretch to gain third but was never a serious threat. QUALITY CHIC was three-wide throughout, was a bit keen in the early going, pulled up close turning onto the backstretch, but settled back in a mid-pack position, then lacked a finish in the stretch. UNDERDRESSED raced forwardly through the early stages, then started to drop back on the far turn, then did not offer a rally in the stretch. BIG BERNIE missed the break, then lost the path just after the start, raced at the back of the field, saved ground to the stretch, ran on a bit in upper stretch, but flattened. DOMINANT SPIRIT veered out after the break, tucked in behind the pacesetter for the first half mile, racing off the rail, was prominent to the stretch, then had nothing to give when called upon.
