WORTH LOOKING pressed the early pace from the rail, made a bid for the leadleaving the three-furlong pole, swung out three wide at the top of the stretch, dueled briefly with DERBY DATE in upper stretch, gained the advantage near the furlong pole, and prevailed. DERBY DATE was unhurried early, saved ground down the backstretch, came out to the three-path for the stretch run, and rallied into second. ALGEBRA stalked the pace three-wide, assumed the lead past the quarter pole, dueled with WORTH LOOKING into uppper stretch and yielded to that rival in the final furlong, then was just nipped for the place. BIG WAVE JAMES raced in mid-pack, launched a bid from the three-furlong pole but flattened in upper stretch and did not threaten. CARBON STRYKER was void of any early speed, then shuffled back to last going into the turn, kept to task and passed a couple of tired foes in the stretch. NAUTICAL MOON was being coaxed out of the gate but still outpaced, raced near the back and failed to menace. HAY SCOOBY DOO was sent hard from the break, took a slight lead into the turn, was a couple of rivals in close attendance, tried to quicken away midway through the turn, but weakened near the quarter pole and had nothing left in the stretch.
