PARTY GAL broke well, was close up in the initial stages but dropped back a bit from the half-mile pole, was under a ride and well off the leading pair on the turn, then found best stride in the stretch, collared those leaders inside the sixteenth and was just up in time. TIFFANY TAP was away well and vied for the lead from the rail, went on from the half with SMARTCENTS, got the better of that one with a furlong to go, opened up but got tagged at the wire. SMARTCENTS broke on top but was soon under pressure from both sides going down the backstretch, dueled with only TIFFANY TAP through the turn, gave way to that one in the final furlong but held third well clear of the next horse. PURLY DIALED IN tracked in the middle of the pack and finished with some interest but well behind the top three. SPEAKING OF ART raced three-to-four wide throughout near the back and was unable to threaten. BAD AND BOOZY steadied at the start to avoid the fallen rider, was at the back well behind the rest, kept to the inside and passed tired foes. SPEAKER BABY was clipped from behind by FREE TO BE ME at the start, was slow to begin after that, raced well behind the main pack, advanced through the turn, but was unable to produce a late bid. SLEEPY ROSE pulled to the front from the start, backed ff near the half-mile pole, then steadily retreated through the field and had nothing to offer in the stretch. FREE TO BE ME clipped heels with SPEAKER BABY after the break, stumbled badly, and lost the rider; was later caught and walked off. THERE WAS A STEWARDS INQUIRY INTO THE START. AFTER REVIEWING THE VIDEO, NO ACTION WAS TAKEN.
