DOWN THE ISLANDS was roused from the start to get forward position, made the lead into the first turn and was left to dictate the pace, was travleing well under confdient handling to the far turn, then started to quicken away on the turn, was shaken up in upper stretch and went clear and unchallenged to the finish. WITHERING GAZE settled inside, not far from the front, broke away from the pack late on the far turn, chased the eventual winner, and just held safe from a fast-charging rival on the outside. PARTY AT JAYS broke a bit behind the rest, settled at the rear, finished up well through the final furlong and just missed grabbing the place. PEYTON'S DAY raced on the rail at the back of the pack but not far from the leader through the early stages, went three wide into the stretch, ran on some to improve. SIPPIN SCOTCH settled close up behind DOWN THE ISLANDS, could not go on with that rival on the far turn, and went one-paced through the stretch. ARIES HONOR tracked in the two-path to the far turn, then did not rally.
